GIGABYTE AERO 15 CLASSIC-XA Review

Conclusion

The GIGABYTE AERO 15 CLASSIC-XA is a lower high-end gaming laptop with plenty of punch. For the most part, new games run smoothly enough with everything maxed out. The eSports crowd will certainly appreciate the 240 Hz display, and the laptop has enough punch to get there. The laptop is capable of much more than just gaming, and will do perfectly fine for media editing or workstation use. This is further true of media editing thanks to the Pantone Certified, factory calibrated display.

Battery life is above average thanks to the massive 94.24 Whrs battery, which is close to the 100 Whrs limitation set by the FAA. If you’re not doing anything CPU or GPU intensive should last a full work day. However, we would still recommend that you bring your charger with you just in case.

There are a few niggles, such as the webcam and arrow key placement, but they are not critical. Streamers will almost certainly use an external webcam, and the arrow keys just take some getting used to. Additionally, storage is limited with only 512 GB included. However, this can be addressed using a second M.2 SSD or an external hard drive for anything extra.

With these negatives aside, the laptop does well with anything you can throw at it, and comes highly recommended.

Pros

240 Hz Pantone Certified, factory calibrated display
Plenty of CPU and GPU power
Decent battery life
Backlit keyboard
Quality touchpad
Azure AI actually works
2-year international warranty

Cons

Webcam placement is terrible
Arrow key placement takes some getting used to
Limited storage

Overall, if you have US$ 2,499 for a gaming laptop the GIGABYTE AERO 15 CLASSIC-XA should be one of your first considerations. While not the most powerful around, you will be hard pressed to find something similar with all the features and performance of the GIGABYTE.
