Ryzen 7 9700X VS Core Ultra 250K Plus – Mid Range showdown
If you’re putting together a mid-range gaming system right now, the Ryzen 7 9700X VS Core Ultra 5 250K Plus is one of the most interesting comparisons. AMD offers the stronger upgrade path and lower power consumption at default, while Intel’s combination is cheaper, offers greater memory overclocking headroom and, based on my results, could also be the faster gaming platform.
For this comparison, I tested both processors at their specified default settings and with practical overclocks, using an ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5090 and matching high-end components. The results aren’t always as straightforward as the averages suggest, especially once GPU limitations, ray tracing and tuned memory come into play. Watch the full video to see where each platform wins and which one makes more sense for your next build.
