GIGABYTE AERO 15 CLASSIC-XA Review

Metro: Last Light

While not the latest game around, Metro: Last Light had a reputation for bringing computers to their knees. The game is based on the post-apocalyptic metro systems in Russia, and is the second in the series. Testing was done at 1920×1080 using the Very High preset and 4x AF filtering. SSAA was left disabled, as was PhysX to give scores which can be compared to AMD cards.

AC Power

This was not too much to ask of the laptop, however, as it pumped out an average of 105 FPS on mains power. Frame rates spent the majority of time above 60 FPS, beginning to tap into the advantage offered by the screen. Should you wish, there is plenty of headroom to enable NVIDIA PhysX.

Battery Power

The performance takes a fair hit when swapping to battery power, with the average dropping to 75 FPS. This is still more than playable, but with the frame rate often dropping below 60 FPS you’re not getting the potential of the 240 Hz display.
