GIGABYTE AERO 15 CLASSIC-XA Review

Hitman 2

Everyone’s favourite Silent Assassin returns in Hitman 2, looking more glorious than ever. Although the game only supports DirectX 11 at the moment, IO Interactive has promised to add DirectX 12 support in the future. For now, we’re stuck with benchmarking DirectX 11. There is a benchmark batch file in the main directory of Hitman 2, and three changes were made. Firstly, the target GPU had to be changed from the Intel iGPU to the NVIDIA GPU. Secondly, the resolution was dropped from 3840×2160 to 1920×1080. Lastly, V-Sync was disabled.

AC Power

The GIGABYTE AERO 15 CLASSIC-XA did well here, scoring a perfectly playable 70 FPS. Furthermore, with a maximum of around 200 FPS, you get to experience the 240 Hz display in all its glory. Keeping in mind that the settings in the benchmark settings are not completely maxed out, you can up the settings further still.

Battery Power

On battery power, the average frame-rate dropped to 55 FPS. This is still acceptable, but the frame rate often dropped below 40 FPS. As such, some tweaking will need to be done for an enjoyable experience.
