Far Cry: New Dawn

Following the events of Far Cry 5, New Dawn placed the player back in Hope County although in a post apocalyptic setting. Rather than the traditional grey and brown palette of such games, New Dawn offers vivid colours which look fantastic on the GIGABYTE AERO 15 CLASSIC-XA. The Ultra preset at 1920×1080 with HD textures enabled was used for testing.

AC Power

The GIGABYTE AERO 15 CLASSIC-XA did well here, maintaining an average of 78 FPS. This is more than playable, and means that we can hope that the next Far Cry game will also maintain an average of at least 60 FPS on the laptop.

Battery Power

The performance dipped expectedly on battery power, with the average dropping down to 51 FPS. What isn’t shown in the graph is that the game spent a fair bit of time very close to the 60 FPS mark. This is acceptable, but you might want to consider lowering one or two settings to maintain an average of 60 FPS.
