CORSAIR MP600 Core XT 2TB Review – Mass storage at an affordable price

Physical inspection

This drive contains IC’s only one side. Nothing on the backside so not much to talk about here.

As stated previously, a heatsink isn’t necessary for this drive, but of course it never hurts to use one if your motherboard provides. Corsair has chosen the Phison E21T 4 channel controller operating at a modest 980MHz~. what allows Corsair to sell the drive for such a keen price of course is the QLC NAND which is slower than TLC, but shouldn’t pose too much of a problem for everyday use especially with the large 450GB~ dynamic SLC cache.

MP600 Core XT

As a result of the controller, NAND used and the absence of DRAM caching, the Corsair MP600 Core XT 2TB is one of the more affordable choices on the market. You can buy cheaper drives of course, but most of those are Gen3 offerings.
