CORSAIR Force MP600 Review

Earlier in the year AMD introduced the first desktop platform featuring the latest PCIe Gen4 iteration. While we usually evaluate and look forward to such advancements in the contexts of graphics cards. This time however, it is storage which is the first beneficiary of the updated PCI-Express specification. The CORSAIR Force MP600 is one such drive. Featuring the latest Phison controller, 3D TLC NAND and a lower than expected retail price, high performance storage just became more affordable.

With a supporting platform finally, there;s bound to be plenty of M.2 drives entering the market, with about the same performance as Corsair is offering with the Force MP600. There isn’t much room for customizing these drives or differentiating them in performance from each other. As such, it’s up to the individual vendors to create some other value over and above performance and of course price, which is quite incredible on this drive.

As you can see, the Force MP600 is the most obvious or natural evolution from the MP510 you can imagine. It makes use of the newer, faster controller, the same Toshiba TLC NAND and DDR4 memory for cache. The performance claims seem to scale linearly as well when you compare it to the MP510.
