Anvil Disk Utilities

ANVIL’s Disk Utility benchmark as expected gives the nod to the Force MP600. Where the MP600 seems to have the biggest advantage is in sequential performance figures, more than in raw IOPS performance.

At any rate, the IOPS performance on many drives at this level is purely academic at this point. The numbers are much higher than any single user or desktop system would be able to saturate.

It is interesting to see that even in PCIe Gen3 x4 mode, the MP600 remains superior to the MP510, beating it quite convincingly in all departments. This should bode well for the many people still using a PCIe Gen3 based system. The gains in performance are not via just the interface, but in the drive controller and firmware tuning.
