XFX RX 5600 XT THICC III Ultra Review

General Impressions & Conclusion

Overall, the XFX  RX 5600XT hits its target frame rate of 60FPS in just about every game out today. If you’re willing you could probably stretch that to QHD, but your mileage will depend on the particular game. Some sacrifice will have to be made in quality settings, but it is still a usable resolution even if it’s isn’t ideal.

As for power draw it’s commendable when you consider the sheer performance grunt it offers at a peak 136 watts. As for operating temperatures, one could not expect much more really. The cooler is perhaps overkill, but when dealing with enthusiast hardware that’s a good thing as it keeps temps at a more than acceptable level. The only part I would have genuinely liked to see improved would have I would have been in the use of 14Gbps memory ICs especially as it is the fastest SKU from XFX’s entire 5600XT line up. Of particular importance because of the narrow 192-bit bus. That said, the 1860MHz that’s possible for the memory does boost performance in a measurable way and it poses next to zero risk for the card.

Aesthetically as I mentioned before this isn’t going to work for everyone. Personally, I find the card rather bland, however I’d not say it’s unsightly in anyway. It simply lacks any of the visual flair that so many partner cards have gotten us accustomed to. I however am more than willing to overlook the absence of any RGB lighting, because of the amazing value offered. I am convinced that the XFX 5600XT THICC III is easily and by far the most cost-effective gaming graphics card money can buy.
