So far, the GeForce GTX 680 has been the only 600-series card aimed at the performance market, but Nvidia is changing that with the release of the GeForce GTX 670. An online store based in The Philippines has a Gainward GeForce GTX 670 available for pre-order at a price of PHP 19,990, which works out to roughly US $470 – approximately US $80 less than its bigger brother. Based on the same GK104 core as the bigger GTX 680, the GTX 670 will have slightly lower specifications, believed to be as follows:

  • ~ 900 MHz core speed
  • ~ 1,250 MHz (5.00 GHz effective) GDDR5 memory speed on a 256-bit bus for 160 GB/s memory bandwidth
  • 4 Graphics Processing Cores (GPCs)
  • 7 Streaming Multiprocessor (SMX) units
  • 1,344 CUDA cores
  • 112 Texture Memory Units (TMUs)
  • 32 Raster Operation Processors (ROPs)

The only specifications which have been confirmed by the online store are the memory size and bus-width at 2 GB and 256-bits respectively. If these specs are correct, the GeForce GTX 670 may prove to offer better bang-for-buck than the bigger GTX 680. Source — VideoCardzSource — VR-Zone
