Wootware WootBook X5 – A near perfect and balanced lightweight gaming notebook
The Wootware WootBook X5 is one very impressive notebook. I’ve tested a lot of these and out of every notebook I’ve reviewed to date, this one stands out.
The weight comes in at a perfectly balanced 1.6kg, and for that you still get a GeForce RTX 5070 12GB GPU, a Ryzen AI 9 465 CPU, and a calibrated 14 inch 2560×1600 240Hz IPS display, backed by very high speed LPDDR5 running at 8533. At R40,000, there’s nothing in the South African market that can match it, from any vendor.
The control panel’s UI is excellent too. It’s intuitive, easy to read, easy to navigate, and gives you every feature you could want from a notebook control panel, and then some.
The one place it falls short is audio, which leaves a lot to be desired. Outside of that, I can’t fault it anywhere.
