X570 AORUS MASTER Review

Hardware – Conclusion

Aesthetics & General impressions

In as far as how motherboards look and feel, the AORUS is high end through and through. The backplate on this motherboard unlike on the Extreme doesn’t lend itself to any sort of advanced cooling. The VRM is cooled via a thermal pad on the rear attached to this back place, but that’s generally about it. For cooling. Even the Southbridge isn’t getting any assistance from this plate. For the purposes of structural reinforcement, it is appreciated but certainly nothing you’d miss.

When it comes to the Southbridge, as with many vendors it is actively cooled by a high RPM fan. This fan, when this motherboard was initially brought to us and even after it went retail, had no RPM control at all. What that meant was that noise from the fan was quite unbearable. With the latest F5g BIOS, GIGABYTE has added in three FAN settings which make a world of difference. This addition alone, is literally one of the reasons why my overall impressions of the X570 MASTER are much better now than before. With the fan at full RPM almost all the time, working with a system was rather unbearable, so kudos I guess to GIGABYTE for implementing this much needed feature.

There isn’t much LED lighting here, or at least it’s not as offensive as on other motherboards. What is there however looks great and well worth having on if you’re into that sort of thing. The software for controlling this lighting is profoundly underwhelming as always, but does get the job done.
