First Ivy Bridge-E Xeon Engineering Sample Spotted, Core Count Increased To Eight

Intel’s upcoming HEDT (high-end desktop) family of processors, Ivy Bridge-E, is slated for release in Q3 2013 and will replace the current range of Sandy Bridge-E processors. Intel Core i7-3970X Extreme Edition Starts Selling In Singapore

Intel’s flagship HEDT (High End Desktop) processor using the LGA2011 platform, the Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition, has been ousted from its throne by the new Core i7-3970X Extreme Edition (S-Spec SR0WR) which started selling in Singapore for S $1,425 (about US $1,170 at the current exchange rate).
