Z490 Taichi

We are several months in after the release of Intel’s 10th generation Core CPUs and platform. In the time since, the platform has seen firmware and microcode updates. That means all Z490 boards are better today than at launch. One such motherboard is the Z490 Taichi. ASRock once again attempts to pack high-end functionality into an affordable price to varying degrees of success. Overall, this is a solid offering, but is it a worthy successor to the Z390 Taichi? Well, let’s find out.

ASRock B550 TAICHI Review

WEB: ASRock ERP:  $299.99 | ZAR TBD | AUTHOR: Neo

ASRock has done the unexpected with the B550 TAICHI and produced a better motherboard, from a technically inferior chipset. Not only is this an objectively more capable motherboard than the X570 TAICHI, it does so at a price few if any others can match. For whatever reason, when it comes to bang for buck, ASRock is putting out strong offerings at every turn, and the B550 TAICHI is one such example. There’s no indication of when it may be available here in South Africa, but here’s hoping it’s sooner rather than later (and at an appropriate price too).

ASRock B450M Steel Legend Review

WEB: ASRock MSRP: US $99.99 | ZAR TBD | AUTHOR: Neo

It’s been a long time since I’ve had this board in my test rig and even longer since the B450 chipset debuted. As a budget and alternative chipset to X470, it is understandable that many may shy away from it particularly those who are looking at the upper echelon of gaming motherboards from ASRock. Afterall, quite literally my favourite board to date for the X570 chipset is the ASRock X570 Taichi, par none. However, not all of us are fortunate enough to have the means for such a board and the B series is where we must find our motherboard solutions. Fortunately, this isn’t just any B450 motherboard, it’s the ASRock B450M Steel Legend and legendary it very much is.

ASRock X570 Taichi OC Review

WEB: ASRock MSRP: US $299.99 | AUTHOR: Neo

Here we are with the ASRock X570 Taichi, just over a full month after the launch of AMD’s 3rd generation Ryzen CPUs and the matching X570 chipset. Truth be told, it definitely feels like it’s been much longer than a month. As we’ve come to expect with AMD platform launches, plenty of updates coming in fast. Each successive update bringing stability and compatibility improvements. This latest entry in the ASRock X570 Taichi is easily my favorite X570 motherboard thus far. As such, we decided this would be a great candidate for an OC review.
