Corsair HS70 Pro Wireless Review

WEB: CORSAIR MSRP: US $99.99 | ZAR 2,249 | AUTHOR: Neo

The Corsair HS Pro series has arrived and this time we’re examining the most premium of the lot in the HS70 Pro Wireless. Hot off the heels of the Virtuoso RGB, the HS Pro line is nearly half the price, but that doesn’t mean the headset is cheap. In fact, price wise and most certainly in quality, this headset is a match for the VOID Pro RGB, which until recently sold as the greatest listening experience available from Corsair’s range.

As shown in the promotional video above, the HS70 Pro is one of three new headsets in the HS Pro series. Each catering to a different price point. As you know and just so we are clear, headsets in the same family can perform differently and sometimes (not in this case) have little in common. As such, it’s quite possible to have nothing but reverence for the HS70 Pro, but loath the HS50 Pro (note, this is just an example). Few retailers offer this facility, but where possible do a listening test before you buy. Much like with gaming chairs, no amount of text or video can inform you better than hands on testing can. With all that said and done, let’s get into it. First up, the specifications.

Just about every self respecting headset uses Neodymium drivers, 50mm at that. However they aren’t all the same and will of course have different audio signatures. In the same way that saying you use a liquid cooler tells you little to nothing meaningful about the particular unit in question’s abilities.
