Cougar Attila Gaming Headset Review

WEB: COUGAR MSRP: US $29.90 | ZAR TBD | AUTHOR: Neo

Cougar ATTILA

Cougar’s Atilla headset is here, seeking to join other highly impressive Cougar gear such as the K700 Evo and Surpassion RX mouse, reviewed late last year.

Before we got further, I can tell you right now that the Attila’s sonic performance is middle of the road. Cougar has a better sounding set in the Havoc BT, but that’s double the price. The Atilla makes a case for itself in pure value proposition and in its versatility. As such, these may not deliver the best sonic performance in Cougar’s range, but nothing else matches them for value. At $29.90 (Local ZAR price TBA), you’ll have a tough tome finding a better headset anywhere.

TheOverclocker Presents – Intel Core i9 10980XE

WEB: INTEL Price: ZAR 20,199| U$D 829.23  AUTHOR: TheOverclocker

Intel is back again, this time with their most powerful HEDT CPU yet, the Core i9 10980XE. 18 cores running at up to 4.8GHz. Intel is leveraging it’s improved 14nm manufacturing process and extracting as much as possible from it to good measure. The 10980XE may not be the best CPU at any single task, but it does well enough in them all that it makes a great case for itself. With a variety of configuration options, this is easily the most flexible CPU Intel has to offer. Find out more in TheOverclocker Presents – Intel Core i9 10980XE

Life with the Intel Core i9 10980XE

WEB: INTEL MSRP: USD $999.99 | ZAR  18,999 | AUTHOR: Neo

Life with the Intel Core i9 10980XE. Way after the reviews have landed, there’s the everyday experience with the CPU. Something that benchmarks can’t really tell you. This video is just some of my insights on the CPU and using it everyday. Despite the criticism leveled at the CPU, I like this one. If the older 7980XE was justifiable at nearly $2,000 / R36,000 or so, surely the 10980XE at $999/ R19,000 makes even better sense.

Either way, make of it what you will. Until next time. 😉

Corsair K95 RGB Platinum XT Review

WEB: CORSAIR MSRP: US $199.99 | ZAR TBD AUTHOR: Neo

K95 RGB Platinum XT

It may be hard to imagine, but prior to the K95 RGB Platinum XT, it had been five years since Corsair last updated their flagship K95 keyboard. In that time, we’ve seen several excellent offerings from Corsair specifically the MK.2 versions of the K70 RGB and the Strafe. These, proved just as capable and in many ways, more stylish than their premium K95 counterpart.

Now in 2020, Corsair has finally seen it fit to update the K95 and have done so in the most understated way possible. Yet despite these minor changes, they’ve all come together to make an even better keyboard. One that once again can claim to be the best gaming keyboard from Corsair.

With everything that has happened in the Desktop CPU world in 2019, Intel’s had a tough time competing against reinvigorated competition, challenges with security exploits and manufacturing delays. A perfect storm of sorts, but through it all Intel has managed to hold on to two titles, courtesy of the Core i9 9900KS. This CPU holds the honors for the highest clocked CPU in the business and most importantly the highest performing gaming CPU of all. 9900KS availability has proved quite challenging and prices high. However if you do manage to find one, you’ll not be disappointed. The Core i9 9900KS CPUs have some of – if not – the finest 14nm silicon from Intel and despite it’s age, packs the mightiest punch of all.
